i was really hoping to make a blog post almost every day but it turns out i've been very busy hahaha

a lot has happened this week! i went to a local 夏祭り(summer festival)and it was so much fun! i was supposed to help carry the mikoshi (essentially a portable shrine) but i was eating shaved ice right at the time they decided to do it ( ̄┰ ̄*)ゞ i felt bad because i signed up to volunteer haha but oh well. i quickly finished my shaved ice and followed them around still. there was plenty of people helping so it was fine! they had a little firework/sparkler thing at the end!! there were lots of people in yukata and even little kids!! afterwards, i went with my friends to eat indian-style curry! it was suuper good but i got a spicier one, which my mouth has no problem, but the next day my stomach ached the wholeee day and i felt so sick. it was probably also because i was pretty dehydrated. the summers here are no joke.

i also got invited to go to a firework festival by the same friends! we all met up at the train station after school and traveled there together. once we got there, it wasn't too bad, because we went 4 hours early to get a good spot! (which, by the way, was totally worth it. it was an amazing spot). a couple of us went to go grab something to eat at a local food court, which was unfathomably busy, and impossible to find a seat. i was probably mindlessly walking around the seating for 30 minutes with my big plate of omlette curry. i really should have gotten a seat before i bought the food lol but i was so hungry! eventually one of my friends found a little bar in the back to sit at, and the food was still hot! it was sooo good too, but maybe the flavor was just amplified by the stress and my stomach rumbling

anyways, we ended up heading back to our spot to meet up and one of the friends and i saw a biggg circle of traditional dance happening. it looked like so much fun! there were people there to dance for the festival, but also many festival attendees who jumped in and danced! it was beautiful and tear jerking. i would really love to learn at least one dance so maybe i could join someday!

soon enough the firework show was starting. it was amazing! there were so many interesting fireworks that i have never seen before. they really lit up the sky. it was so much fun to be there with friends, enjoying these giant explosions in the sky haha. it lasted way longer than i thought it would. there was also announcements throughout the whole show. i'm not sure if they were talking about the meaning of the fireworks, since they seemed to come from different companies, or maybe they were jusy selling ads, who knows. they did play a couple songs to go along with certain segments and it was great! they even played 夜に駆ける by Yoasobi! it was pretty cool. i knew the song was popular in the US for sure, but i guess it's popular here too! makes sense lol. i can't wait to go to more! i even bought a really pretty yukata and my school is going to teach us how to wear it properly soon, so then i'll be able to dress traditionally every time i go to a 夏祭り!

i really need to make a blog as soon as something happens because honestly i've already started to forget my days! they've been going by soo fast. it's difficult to go into detail!

i'll probably start keeping a field journal on me at all times to write down everything. it's a hassle, but i have the shorrttesstt term memory. it's baddd

anyways! until next time! またね!

P.S.
