guess who's got their visaaaaa?!?!
itza me!
me and my mom picked up my visa today from the japanese consulate in nashville TN! we went last week to apply, and this week it was ready. last week we just went for the day. it's not too bad of a drive, but we definitely don't live close, so this time my mom decided to stay the night. it was honestly so much better. driving like 10 hours in one day kinda sucked. not impossible, just sucky. anyways, yesterday we went down broadway which was very loud. it was interesting, but i'm not too fond of super loud places. we picked this restaurant that my mom went to last time she came to nashville, and it was great! they had these amazing roasted brussel sprouts that are now probably my favorite dish. i tried this drink that was like a mojito but they added basil...not a fan. i just got a regular mojito instead, and my mom said she would drink mine. i was definitely trying to choke it down since i was the one who ordered it, but it was just that bad. well, the bartender lady was SO NICE and she decided not to charge us for the drink since i didn't like it, even though my mom drank it. we weren't expecting it at all! everyone at that restaurant was extremely nice. of course we left a hearty tip :D
the next day we went to the parthenon! i've been before but it's been a while. they were doing some new intallations so the area where you can walk right in front of athena was closed, but you could see her from the sides! she is so pretty. i'm a huge percy jackson fan, and i've been ever since i was about 10 or so. it's always cool to visit a place that's featured in the books :D
then we ate at a cute taco place, then picked up my visa! we pretty much immediately got in the car and started driving home lol. now that we're here, my body achesss from sitting in the car so long. that flight to japan isn't gonna be any better lol
i'm not too sure what else to say! i just wanted to add a little update that my trials and tribulation are now (for the most part) over. now i've got to focus on packing and storing everything i don't need, figuring out what i do need and figure out HOW to pack it (hopefully i won't be attached to too many things?) and then i'll be on my way. now that it feels real, i feel myself getting more anxious and anxious. everything will be fine of course, but it's more just like i'm so excited that it makes me anxious. i'm just kind of waiting until the day that i leave and that anticipation is slowly killing me. i'm also going to really miss everyone that i'm leaving. i'm going to be in japan for a couple years and it's wayy to expensive to come home often :(
anywaysss i'm very excited for what's to come!
i am writing this right after we got home from nashville and i am POOPED! so sorry if this entry is messy hehe. i'm so sleepy! goodnight <3
